Wayne Levac was elected Treasurer of USW, Local 6166 on April 9th 2009.
Wayne Levac moved to Thompson in 1975 and became a member of Local 6166 at Inco Ltd.
Soon after starting work at Thompson Mine (T1) area, Wayne became an active steward and was asked to undertake different roles within the Union with greater responsibility. From Committeeman, to his present role as the Conflict Resolution Co-Ordinator and Vice president of the local, Wayne has built a strong reputation towards service and hard work for all members of Local 6166.
Wayne has served on the Executive of Local 6166 since his first election in the early eighties, and has increased his role and that of Local 6166 within the labour movement.
Wayne has also served as a Manitoba Federation of Labour Area Vice President, President of the Thompson Labour Committee, USW Northern Area Council Treasurer, Manitoba Mines Act Review Committee and is active on numerous other interests.
