Local 6166 is part of a Canadian USW
Delegations trip to New Caledonia
In November of 2007, USW local 6166 President Les Ellsworth along with Environmental Worker Safety Representative Perry Oxford, were part of a Canadian United Steelworkers delegation that went to New Caledonia.
The trip was essential to help understand what the union can do to help in the struggles of the local people. It helps define what effects large companies that employ our members are having in other parts of the world in regards to fair treatment as well as political and environmental issues affecting them.
