The United Steelworkers local 6166  - Celebrating 50 years of service to its membership in 2012.

In January of 1962, the workers at Vale (formerly known as INCO at that time) recieved certification and became a unionized bargaining unit.  United Steelworkers local 6166 was born and has been a recognized force in the community of Thompson ever since. This year we will be celebrating our anniversary with a number of different events to be planned throughout the entire year that will bring together our members, their families and the community.
