- All contestants Must register prior to opening on Saturday June 19, 2010. (first paid entries guaranteed)
- All contestants to attend Rules and Regulation Meeting, which will be held at the USW Local 6166 Union Hall at 7:00pm on Friday evening Friday June 18 2010, prior to the contest on Saturday. Rules will be reviewed and set forward.
- All contestants must sign a Release Form for the National King Miner Contest and have paid the registration fee.
- Registration Fee will be $70.00 which includes all events.
- Contestants must abide by all rules as laid down for each competition. Judges decision will be final.
- Contestants will compete individually, except for the team event, where teams will be competing for the prize. Four (4) contestants per team.
- Once the event is started, time continues to run. Check equipment prior to starting each event.
- All contestants must supply and wear:
- CSA Ear muffs - must be worn in all air events.
- CSA Hard hat
- CSA Safety Glasses
- Miners Work Gloves (pipe fitting optional). See judges for ruling.
- CSA Mine Approved Safety Boots with Metatarsal Guard.

- Each competition will be times by stopwatch (time limit for each event will vary). Time for each individual will be totalled and best overall time in all 11 events will be proclaimed "National King Miner" and will have their name placed on the major trophy. Contestants having the second best time will recieve the Runner up prize of $700.00, third will recieve $300.00, forth will recieve $100.00, Rookie prize is $500.00. All events must be completed for the National King Miner title. All contestants are to attend the Results Meeting and any concerns will be addressed at this meeting. At the end of the meeting, all results are final.
- Rookie prize will be best overall timing, if more than one Rookie. All events must be completed to qualify for the prize (time limit per event)
- Contest starts are 9:00am and ends at 3:30pm sharp. Be sure you are finished your event at this time, as the team event will start.
- Elements in each event must be completed as stated in the rules. It is the responsibility of eaech competitor to ensure they are aware of the required elements in each event by communicating with officials or judges, prior to starting each event. Should an element be missed by the competitor during the event, the maximum time posted in that event will be awarded to the competitor. A Disqualification in any event you will not be entitled to be in the running for the title of National King Miner.
- No charge or alterations allowed by contestants to any event site.
- If the event of a tie for any position in an event, the tied contestants will play off one-half of the event. Please note, your first recorded time will be the official time. In the event of an overall tie for the National King Miner, the most first place finished will take the title, followed by most second place finishes, followed by most third place finishes etc.
