Christmas Graphics

Date: December 15th 2009

USW Local 6166 held it's  Christmas Social "In Support of our Brothers and Sisters"  for the membership on December 12th and it was a huge success having the venue completely packed with people.

There were many door prizes handed out and a silent auction held that saw many walk away with a ton of loot. There was a Grand Prize of a mini quad won by one of our retired members Louis Ouelette. Congratulations to all the winners of the prizes.

Local rock band "Monalith" performed all night for the audience dedicating the Tom Petty song "I won't back down" in their first of 3 sets to the Steelworkers out on strike. PA Sound and DJ music was provided by  "After Dark Productions". (See video and pictures below)

We would also like to thank all the local businesses and people that donated to this cause to help make Christmas a little merrier for those on strike that do not have a lot for their families this year.

Thanks as well to all the volunteers, who without there tireless help, none of this successful event would have been possible.

All money that was raised from the social will be sent to the workers and families that have been on the picket lines against Vale Inco since July of this year.
