Conflict resolution plays a crucial role in any collective agreement in the labor movement. Whether an issue arrises on the shop floor between a worker and their supervisor or between the union and the company, there is built into the collective agreement a means to resolve those differences.
Phil Hayden has been at the forefront of defending USW 6166 members along with a strong steward body within our membership. He is consistantly helping the workers that feel they have been treated unjust, or to get the respect and dignity they deserve.
Phil also helps guide and assign the steward body when they are attending grievance meetings, resolving harrasment issues, or absenteeism intervention.
Phil Works closely with Scott Clements who is chair of the grievance committee that oversee all grievances. Collectively the committee decide on whether a grievance that cannot be resolved in the early stages of the grievance process move forward to mediation or arbitration.
