Collective Bargaining Agreements

The "Backbone" to any union rests in its collective bargaining agreement with the company their members work for. It is the agreement or terms of work that we negotiate on behalf of the members that elected them to do so.

The negotiation process is one that shows the true grit of a membership and the ability to show their solidarity to a company when the process of negotiations are in full swing or when they hit a snag. Most people don't have to look too far to see the most recent collective agreement Local 6166 has bairgained for their CVRD/Inco members as well as 6166's other affiliated units, as some of the most comprehensive collective agreements in Canada. It did not come about without some battle scars. (Refer to history and collaboration)

This local is very proud of the current collective agreements in place that give some of the most competitive wages, pensions, benefits, and language that includes overseeing workers health and safety their members can enjoy.

Local 6166 will continue to make gains throughout the life of the CBA's in place for their members as well as into the future for the next set of negotiations.
